We all know that the DC Cinematic Universe is, as of now, in a literal do-or-die situation and it seems everyone is pretty much aware of it. As James Gunn takes the helm of the DC Universe, it looks like he's preparing it for an epic final stand with the upcoming Superman Legacy set for release on May 11, 2025. This movie will canonize the new revamped DCU and will determine the future of DC movies. James Gunn really didn't hold back when it came to casting characters for this movie and gave us some incredible reveals. So put on your super capes and learn all about the cast of Superman Legacy.

The biggest decision James Gunn made for the DCU was the reworking of Henry Cavill's Superman and bringing in David Corenswet for the roles of Superman Legacy, giving him the mantle of one of the most powerful DC heroes.

Fans of Henry Cavil did not take this change very well and if you ask me, it's quite understandable (I was one of them). But the striking resemblance Corenswet bears to Henry Cavill made fans question James Gunn's decision.

To these questions, Gunn had a fairly reasonable answer. He said they needed a younger looking Superman for the DCEU and casting Henry again would make two different cinematic universes collide.
