House Of The Dragon Season 3 George RR Martin The controversy is wild

While fans are patiently waiting for the third installment in House of the Dragon, not all aspects of season 2 made them happy, especially the readers of Blood & Fire. But no change from the book soured fans of the text more than the show's treatment of Blood and Cheese, including George RR Marin.

Although Martin clarified that he did not find the season premiere to be a complete disappointment, and sang its praises, he weighed in on the controversy surrounding it. The Fire & Blood writer echoed fans' sentiments, agreeing that the show's version of a pivotal scene wasn't as strong as the script.

In the book, Blood and Cheese is hired by Daemon Targaryen to kill Helaena's children for the death of Lucerys Velaryon. Given that Helaena had three children, the twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and Maelor, when asked the question of who should die, she initially resists and offers her own life.
