I'll be honest with you, even though I knew The Boys Season 4 finale was going to be amazing, I didn't expect it to go so damn hard, and that ending with Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box? Pure cinema. But while The Boys doesn't follow the exact arc of its comic counterpart, it's certainly heading towards the same ending we might see in Season 5. So if you're excited for what's to come, here's how Boys ends.

The Boys: Conclusion | Comics explained

Spoiler alert This article contains spoilers for The Boys season 4 finale.

In the comics, Homelander organizes a coup and takes over the White House with an army of supes guarding him. He kills the president and sits on the chair of the president of the United States. Butcher marches to the White House with a crowbar, and the US military at his side, who have developed weapons that can kill supes. Butcher plans to enter the White House and challenge Homelander directly. But things don't quite go according to his plans. Homelander is then attacked by Black Noir, who is a clone of Homelander in the comics. In the end, Butcher kills Black Noir rather brutally.

In The Boys comics, the story ends with the death of William Butcher at the hands of Hughie. So far in the series, we've seen the Homelander successfully carry out his plan. He is now in a position of power in the US and has his army of supes literally handed to him on a silver platter. He can kill the president whenever he wants and can take over the country whenever he wants.
