Shinji Mikami's The Evil Within has become a cult hit among horror fans, even with its questionable gameplay choices. Since October was the scary month, the Epic Games Store decided to spread some love among gamers. The best way they did it was by offering The Evil Within for free on the Epic Games Store.

Epic Games consistently offers free games every Thursday on their marketplace. While they have repeated their previous offerings, they are introducing two sets of games that they have not offered before.

Starting October 19th, users of the Epic Games Store can download the first Evil Within game for free. As usual, you'll need an EGS account to redeem the game, and it's yours to keep once you've claimed it. The game is available to claim for a full week, until October 26th. The ongoing deal on the title only includes the base game and not the three DLCs that the game received. You must purchase them separately.

Coming next week, The Evil Within 2 will replace the first game as a free-to-play offering. That game will be free to claim from October 26 and will require an EGS account. Moreover, it will also be available for claiming for a week. Unlike its predecessor, the second game has no DLCs. Therefore, you get to experience the whole story and the ending of the saga.
