Grounded & Pentiment heading to Nintendo Switch as first Xbox exclusive to leave exclusivity

Grounded and Pentiment are coming to Nintendo Switch as the first of four games to move away from Xbox exclusivity. Nintendo announced the launch dates during its February Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday. Grounded is slated for its Nintendo Switch debut on April 16, while Pentiment is coming to the console on Thursday.

Hours after the Nintendo event, Microsoft confirmed that Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PlayStation 5 on March 19, followed by Sea of Thieves to PS5 on April 30. (Pentiment and Grounded are both coming to PS5 as well.)

Microsoft announced last week that four previously exclusive Xbox products are coming to the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch – but it didn't say which games. A report from The Verge suggested that Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment would come first, followed by Grounded and Sea of Thieves. Both Grounded and Pentiment are developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a studio acquired by Microsoft in 2018, while Hi-Fi Rush is from Bethesda Game Studios and Sea of Thieves is from Rare. Now the plan has come to fruition.
