Commentary Usually, the head of US government and comedy don't mix, but on Monday night Lina Khan, head of the Federal Trade Commission, was on the Daily Show and told how the agency is going after Amazon, Facebook and others for monopolistic practices. She was also given proof of her persona non grata status at Cook & Co.

Khan was welcomed to the television news commentary show, again hosted by Jon Stewart, with cheers from the audience – again not something that many US government officials hear. The exception to this is possibly Rob Joyce, former White House cybersecurity coordinator and recently retired NSA cybersecurity chief, who received a standing ovation at the Shmoocon infosec conference after a presentation about how he hacks Christmas tree lights for fun.

In the 20-minute interview, Khan provided details of an ongoing lawsuit against Amazon's behavior — specifically, alleged spamming of search results pages and roaming charges on small businesses, which she said "harmed customers."

You can stream her appearance on the Comedy Central / Paramount+ / pretty YouTube show below.
