The next-generation low-cost iPhone SE 4 may be completely abolished if the latest information from Ming-Chi Kuo is to be believed. Rumors of the cancellation have been circulating since December 2022 and now it appears that this may actually be the case. The phone was expected to launch either this year or 2024. Kuo, via a post on Medium, has suggested citing supply chain sources that Apple has decided to halt production and shipping plans for the iPhone SE 4. An earlier report pointed to the possibility of it being delayed. It is suggested that Apple may make this decision due to lower than expected performance of the internal baseband chip it is working with. The chip was supposed to debut with the iPhone SE 4 in 2024, after which it would have made its way to the high-end iPhone 16 depending on how the budget phone turns out, replacing the Qualcomm chip.
