HomeGames, Guides, How toThe iPhone SE 4 may not be dead after all and could launch soon

Earlier we learned that Apple might skip the launch of the rumored iPhone SE 4 and this was heavily supported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. More than a month later, things have turned around and Kuo now believes that Apple will launch the iPhone SE 4 after all and has now started working on it. Here's what you can expect.

iPhone SE 4 LEAKED – 10 Big Changes!

A recent tweet from Kuo suggests that Apple has "rebooted" the iPhone SE 4 and that it will come with its custom 5G baseband chip, thus replacing the Qualcomm modem. This is something we have heard before. This was reportedly also the reason why Apple had previously planned to stop manufacturing the iPhone SE 4.

The 5G baseband chip is expected to be based on the 4nm process and support sub-6GHz bands. It remains to be seen whether Apple can overcome all the technical challenges for this and if this happens we can expect Apple to stop relying on Qualcomm chips. Based on the iPhone SE 4's sales in the first half of 2024, the Apple Watch and iPad may also release Qualcomm chips.

Another big change we can see is the introduction of an OLED display panel instead of an LCD. This could be a large 6.1-inch screen as expected before. For those who don't know, the current iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch screen and if this change actually comes to fruition, it would be a big one. Although an OLED screen can mean quite an expensive price tag! (1/10)[Update] Apple has rebooted the iPhone SE 4 and will use an internal 5G baseband chip. The significant decline in Qualcomm's Apple orders in the foreseeable future is a foregone conclusion. https://t.co/0MeZDFnbzg— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) February 27, 2023
