Arun Ulag, Microsoft's vice president of Azure Data, believes that in a world of constrained or limited IT budgets, something will have to give if new projects are to flourish.

Speaking at the recent Citi 2024 conference, Ulag outlined thoughts on roadblocks and constraints customers face in the latest round of data modernization promoted by the tech giants.
In addition to noting the complexity of building generative AI applications, he also stressed that budgets were insufficient to support overall investment in any new projects stemming from the technology.
"If this goes up a lot, something else has to adjust," he said. "Customers are looking for savings and making sure they can fund these initiatives."
