With the ever-increasing threat of cyberattacks and online fraud, we saw Microsoft testing a new Microsoft Defender app for Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS late last year. Now the Redmond giant has finally made the app generally available to Microsoft 365 users. Check out the details here!

Microsoft Defender app for Windows 11, 10, macOS, iPhone, Android (Review)

When Microsoft released the early preview of the Defender app last year, the company described it as a "personal defense against digital threats" on users' devices, whether it's a Windows PC, a Mac, or an iPhone or Android smartphone. This is because the app works on multiple platforms and helps to strengthen the existing anti-malware and phishing security systems that a user already has.

The Defender app provides the anti-malware protocols available on Windows for Android, iOS and macOS device owners. Users will get security alerts, workarounds and tips to improve their system security through this app. They will also be able to monitor third-party antivirus software such as McAfee or Norton from the Defender Dashboard.

Now, it's worth mentioning that some of the features are currently platform specific. For example, Malware Protection is currently available on Windows and iOS, while "Advice" is currently only available on macOS and Windows machines.
