Gates McFadden claims sexism led to her firing from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Patrick Stewart's Klingon broke up his cast in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION

The original The Next Generation series is inevitably considered one of the best Star Trek shows ever created. Starring Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, the series continues to leave fans on the edge of their seats even after over three decades since its last episode. However, one actress who was fired from the show has some serious allegations against her.

Gates McFadden, who played fan-favorite Beverly Crusher on the hit saga, was fired from it after just one season, and the reason behind this was apparently too much alleged sexism on the show. As the actress shared a candid storyline, TNG included some pretty dirty politics in it: the very thing that ultimately led to her exiting the series.

When she was originally offered a role in the Star Trek saga, Gates McFadden didn't take it, and this happened not just once, but twice. Rather, she chose to "do a $400-a-week play with Linda Hunt." But after she was finally cast as Will Wheaton's character Wesley Crusher's mother Beverly Crusher, things didn't go as planned for her.
