The original pilot for Game of Thrones was very different from what we saw on TV. With several different actors and completely different scenes, it was a disaster. Sean Bean, who was present during the filming of Ned Stark, once recalled what he encountered on set during the original pilot episode.

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss worked really hard to get the series on track and faced crushing defeat at first. Sean Bean, who played Ned Stark in Season 1, recalled filming the original pilot episode with EW:
