Nick Nolte missed two big opportunities to become a significant name in pop culture. Despite his popularity as a leading man in the industry, the actor could not get a chance to work with George Lucas, not once but twice. Although many fans know that he was a potential candidate to play Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark, he also played a prominent character in Star Wars.

After starting his career as a model, Nick Nolte got his big break with an Emmy-nominated performance in the 1976 miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man. After the show, the actor also went on to have some prominent hits and critically acclaimed roles like The Prince of Tides.

However, Nick Nolte's journey to stardom might have been much easier if he got to play Han Solo or Luke Skywalker in George Lucas' 1977 space opera.
