If you've been following the iOS 18 release, you might remember that Apple introduced a message summary feature that, yes, will summarize your pending messages. The app in question is Sum Up from the developer Gustavo who also developed some of my favorite apps I use – Noti Progress Bar and CalenTile Quick Setting Tile. It costs around a penny, but is absolutely worth it for what it does.

Sum up uses Gemini models via the user's Gemini API key to summarize notifications for you. You can give it notification access in addition to setting a message threshold at which the app should summarize the content of messages.

You can also turn on/off notification summary for individual apps. If you are worried about the API key, the developer promises that it will be stored on your device.
