If you've always loved iPhone's Dynamic Island feature and want to tweak the default interface for macOS, take a step forward. A small app for macOS called "NotchNook" brings the iPhone's Dynamic Island to macOS, giving you a fully functional hack on your MacBooks. It basically turns the notch on your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro into the dynamic island and it's well optimized for the task. The app has some super cool animations and feels like a natural extension of macOS. This is such a fun little app that I didn't know I needed until today 😱👏 Cool stuff!https://t.co/1nRqWI0uLH pic.twitter.com/fQpWAWNLyV — Pol Piella (@polpielladev) July 4, 2024
You won't believe what iPhone Dynamic Island really looks like!

Like Dynamic Island, the NotchNook expands from the notch to reveal a "Nook" tab that provides quick access to your multimedia controls, files, shortcuts, and other customizable widgets. For example, if you're listening to music on Apple Music, the NotchNook app will display media playback controls.
This is quite similar to the Now Playing Live activity on the iPhone's lock screen. When you hover your Mac pointer over live activities, you can also see additional information. The app also allows you to customize Live Activities and add other customizable widgets.
