Being a premium, luxury brand in the camera industry, Leica has followed the tradition of releasing its iconic cameras from the past with a titanium spin since 2001. Now, the camera-focused company, which recently launched a premium watch series, has launched a limited edition of its classic MA 35mm film-based rangefinders with titanium elements, and it costs more than you can imagine!

Why does EVERYONE buy a Leica?

Dubbed the Leica MA "Titan" set, it comes with the Leica MA analog camera along with the classic APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH lens. The analog camera body is similar to the Leica MA (Typ 127) 35mm rangefinder released in 2014. It was the first purely mechanical camera from the company since the Leica M4-P that came out back in 1981. APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH lens on the other side has a similar appearance to the very first 50mm Summicron-M lens that debuted in 1956.

The company says titanium offers "exceptional tensile strength, light weight and corrosion resistance" while being 45% lighter and 25% harder than brass, a material the company typically uses for its camera components. Also, since the 35mm film camera relies on mechanical functions, it neither requires a battery to operate nor does it have any digital elements. So users would need to have access to supported movies to actually use the Leica MA Titan camera.

It is worth mentioning that Leica would only produce 250 units of the MA Titan set for sale worldwide. Each of these sets comes with unique, special numbers engraved on both the camera and lens. Users will also receive a certificate of authenticity and a titanium brochure in the box.
