How many times have you rewritten a message on WhatsApp only for something else to pop up halfway through and after visiting the app again, you don't see the incomplete message anymore? Happened to me way too many times, and I've always wanted Instagram's Save Draft feature to get to WhatsApp. Well, pinch me, because WhatsApp is reportedly testing a "Message Draft" feature, and I can't keep my cool about it.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing something of a feature to save draft messages in its latest beta version for iOS 24.18.10.72. However, this feature is already out for both WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop app (Windows, Mac).

So here's what happens. As soon as you leave an incomplete message using a WhatsApp chat and exit the chat or app completely, the message turns into an unsent message or draft. So the next time you visit WhatsApp, the chat will automatically be labeled as "Draft" at the top.

Also, it's very similar to the Instagram Save Draft feature, which has been out for quite some time now. The core mechanism remains the same, and as WABetaInfo says: "With the introduction of the new draft label, users can quickly identify which conversations contain unsent messages without having to open each chat individually".
