Ever since WIT Studio first announced that The One Piece would be in the works, fans were divided on whether they would like it or not. Now, Attack on Titan director Masashi Koizuka seems to be in charge of the project and also in charge of changing people's minds. Many fans questioned why a remake was even needed when neither the manga nor the original anime were finished.

However, the goal was never to redo and improve what was done, it was to acknowledge that what was done has a special place in the fans' hearts. There was a lot that sent people spiraling, whether it was ruining what was perfect or cutting important sequences. However, director Koizuka has a clear idea.

It was recently announced that Masashi Koizuka, the director of Attack on Titan seasons 2 and 3 would be in charge of The One Piece with WIT Studios animation. Toei Animation has been working on the original anime for decades now and the news of another studio taking on the situation was cautionary to begin with. But in a statement shared by @pewpiece on X, the director's words are anything but troubling.
