Akira Toriyama created separate manga before and after Dragon Ball, but none of them reached the same level. However, the legendary creator had to switch from his original genre to make the manga better.

The manga belonged to the science fiction comedy genre. When Toriyama first serialized Dragon Ball, the series used to be filled with toilet humor and infantile jokes.
