Total War: Warhammer 3 contains many RPG elements, such as customizing your lord's equipment. While the weapons are for the most part identical to previous installments, there are some new toys to play with as well.

Each faction in Total War: Warhammer 3 is led by leaders with their own stats and bonuses that affect your armies. But your lords can become even more powerful with specific weapons.

Pretty much all of the best weapons in the game are quest items, meaning you have to meet specific requirements to get them. For Katarin, Boris and Greasus this simply means getting them to Rank 7. Others will unlock a special mission battle at rank 10.

Each of these special weapons that you unlock will have passive effects on your master and your army. These mostly consist of attack bonuses and lower maintenance and recruitment costs. But more importantly, each weapon (except "necrotic missiles") will have either a passive or active ability that will have the ability to completely turn the tide of battle. Passive abilities are mostly self-explanatory, but remember that "Cauldron of the Maw" only works on the units nearby.
