Another US serviceman is facing a potentially significant stretch in prison after sending classified national defense information (NDI) overseas.

Pentagon leak: Video shows arrest of suspected leaker of classified documents

David Franklin Slater, 63, was indicted Monday and faces three counts of conspiracy to defraud NDI. That same day, Pentagon Papers leaker Jack Teixeira pleaded guilty to his crimes, as expected.

Slater allegedly developed a relationship with a co-conspirator, who he believes is a woman in Ukraine, through a foreign dating app and used the same app to send secret data back to the recipient at their request.

A civilian employee of the US Air Force at the time, Slater held a top-secret security clearance from around August 2021 to April 2022, thereby participating in several top-secret briefings on the war in Ukraine.
