You earn rewards and access to new items when you win Standing with the Syndicate. Here is a simple and easy to follow guide if you want to increase your position with Holdfasts.
The way to earn Holdfast Standing is not an easy task. You will need a lot of patience to grow Voidplumes.
Fortunately, the update guarantees eight Voidplumes in quests, one of which is rare. Then you have to give it to an NPC in Chrysalith.
