If you had come up to me or anyone from Beebom a few months ago and said we were actually going to get serious about fitness, we would have laughed it off. But now things are different and a lot has changed, all thanks to a small leap of faith the team took.

What started as a hit-and-miss initiative has now become something much bigger than we could have ever fathomed. All we did was integrate walking into our daily routine, and it did something to us, for the best. So let me take you on a journey. The journey of a team of 30-somethings who finally realized the transformative potential of getting tested, and why you should too. Of course I'll share how it all started and how we did it.

Most desk jobs require you to sit and type away on laptops all day. I mean, if overhydration can cause water toxicity, sitting too much can't be good for you, right? Besides, this sedentary lifestyle isn't limited to our offices, right? It extends to our home as well. Because there's a good chance you'll choose to stay in and binge-watch something rather than get on the treadmill or go for a walk.

If you take a look at this Yale Medicine piece, you will realize the seriousness of this problem. Bottom line is walking and staying active helps. With that idea, we decided to do a kind of step counting challenge with the Beebom team. But how many steps a day should you walk in the first place? Basic research showed that 10,000 steps is a good number.
