Deadpool & Wolverine is just around the corner, and fans are excited to see Cassandra Nova wreak havoc on timelines as Deadpool & Wolverine embark on their multi-faceted adventures. However, there seems to have been an entirely different villain who could have been the film's main antagonist, and it's one that fans have been obsessing over since the beginning of Phase 4.
/Film reported that Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds revealed that there was another villain in the running to be the main antagonist of Deadpool & Wolverine. This character was not a mutant, but had long been rumored to be part of the MCU, with some sources reporting that Sasha Baron Cohen would be writing the role in the upcoming Ironheart Disney+ series.
Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds spoke to Collider and revealed that Mephisto would make his appearance in the MCU at one point in Deadpool & Wolverine, and would have served as the main antagonist for the film.
