Technical drawings, graphic images and sketches can be created using a variety of instruments, ranging from traditional tools such as pencils, compasses, rulers and a variety of triangles as well as by computer. Drawing tools are used to make accurate and legible drawings and models.

The Eraser Tool is used in concert with the Drawing and Painting Tools to obtain final, usable art. As the name implies, the Eraser Tool is primarily used for erasing.

The Ellipse Tool creates elliptical shapes and paths (shape outlines). Create new shape layer – to create every new shape in a separate layer. Add to shape area – to create mutiple shapes in the same vector shape layer. Subtract from shape area – to subtract shapes from the current shape layer.

Select the Ellipse tool ( ) from the toolbar. If you can’t find the Ellipse tool, click and hold the Rectangle tool to show the other related tools, and then select the Ellipse tool.

Resize the ellipse by clicking the “Edit” menu and selecting “Transform Path.” Click the “Scale” option, then pull one of the corners framing the ellipse to make it larger or smaller. Press the “Enter” key when satisfied with the new size.

You can do this as follows:

1. Start an edit session on the layer.
2. Double click the circular polygon feature to display its vertices.
3. Hover the cursor over the edge of the circular feature (though not over the one visible vertex).
4. Left mouse click and you’ll be able to drag the circle to re-size.

The pen tool is a path creator. You can create smooth paths that you can stroke with a brush or turn to a selection. This tool is effective for designing, selecting smooth surfaces, or layout. The paths can also be used in Adobe illustrator when the document is edited in Adobe illustrator.

To scale proportionally from the center of an image, press and hold the Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) key as you drag a handle. Holding Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) to scale proportionally from the center.

In Photoshop, open an image with one or more faces. Select Filter > Liquify. Photoshop opens the Liquify filter dialog. In the Tools panel, select (Face tool; keyboard shortcut: A).

Check what layer you’ve made the selection on. Make sure your on the same layer that the picture of the car is. You get that message because the selected part of the layer you are working on is empty..

Ctrl-clicking or Command-clicking the layer thumbnail selects the nontransparent areas of the layer.

1. To select all layers, choose Select > All Layers.
2. To select all layers of a similar type (for example all type layers), select one of the layers, and choose Select > Similar Layers.

To resize an image in Photoshop:

1. Open your image in Photoshop.
2. Go to “Image,” located at the top of the window.
3. Select “Image Size.”
4. A new window will open.
5. To maintain the proportions of your image, click the box next to “Constrain Proportions”.

If you encounter a ‘Scratch disk full’ error, it often means that your hard drive (or drives) used as scratch disk is (are) running out of storage space required to perform a task.
