Is it safe to eat a boiled bouncy egg? Yes, but it is not the best idea. It will taste like vinegar and most people find that unpleasant. The shell of the egg has been dissolved by the acetic acid inside of the vinegar, and since the egg white is cooked, it’s membrane is rubbery, causing the bounciness.

1. First get permission to use kitchen equipment and eggs. Then put a raw egg (in its shell) into a bowl and cover it completely with vinegar.
2. Wait two days, then drain off the vinegar. When you touch the egg, it will feel rubbery. Be careful not to break the membrane, and wash your hands after you touch the egg.

Grab a can of Coke, an empty jar, and one delicate egg. Place the egg within the jar and pour the coke over the egg. Store the jar in a safe place for one day. Once twenty four hours have passed, open the jar and pour the soda into a bowl slowly, leaving the egg in the jar.

Wash and dry a room-temperature egg and coat it with a toothpaste containing fluoride. Apply the toothpaste in a coat at least ¼ inch thick and fill in any air bubbles. Wash and dry another room-temperature egg but don’t coat it with toothpaste; this is your control egg.

Directions:

1. Stretch out your balloon.
2. Choose your filling: rice or flour.
3. Stick a funnel into the neck of the balloon.
4. Slowly fill the balloon.
5. Remove the funnel from the balloon and let out as much air as you can.
6. Tie the neck of the balloon closed tightly.
7. Snip off the excess rubber.
