At least part of four of the seven continents are located in the Eastern Hemisphere: Africa, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Additionally, at least part of all five of Earth’s oceans are located in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Most of Europe and Africa are in the Eastern Hemisphere, but a small part of their western areas are in the Western Hemisphere. Antarctica is in both the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

Africa

As a very northern country of the world, Russia has a latitude of 61.5240° N. As such, Russia is situated to the north of the equator. The longitude of Russia is 105.3188° E, placing Russia in the eastern hemisphere. The GPS coordinates of Russia put Russia in the northern hemisphere as well.

A place’s absolute location is its exact place on Earth, often given in terms of latitude and longitude. For example, the Empire State Building is located at 40.7 degrees north (latitude), 74 degrees west (longitude).

Relative is always in proportion to a whole. Absolute is the total of all existence. 2. Relative is dependent while absolute is independent.

Now we have the extreme geographic points of Africa- four of them (north, west, south, and east) are the mainland extreme geographic points, and there two extreme island points- Galite Islands on the north, and the easternmost point of Socotra Island.

The most important thing to know — and we know you know this, but it must be said —is that Africa is not a country. It’s a continent of 54 countries that are diverse culturally and geographically.

From the tiny island nations of Comoros, Seychelles, and São Tomé and Príncipe, to its largest country, Africa is the only continent with land in all four hemispheres. Unlike any other continent, it is divided into two almost equal lengths by the equator, and it is nearly as wide as it is long.
