In contemporary usage, canny is a synonym for shrewd. Both words mean smart or sharp-witted, but they also suggest that someone is smart in a self-serving and possibly even tricky way. Canny is also related to the word cunning — another adjective meaning “wise,” but with negative connotations.

Strategy. Surviving all of Papyrus’s attacks and finally sparing him ends the battle. In the Genocide Route, Papyrus instantly offers to spare the protagonist. However, a single hit kills him.

When you kill Papyrus, he isn’t dead… As you keep killing, Papyrus loses more belief, and has none for you when you kill Sans. The reason he doesn’t start a battle for killing his brother like Sans did is that he knows he has weak attacks. Then he probably watches you continue, as you kill Asgore and Flowey.

So yeah Papyrus has Gaster Blasters. He got it from Gaster, his father, for protection against people, but he never uses them since he’s believes in everyone and won’t try to kill someone ever.

Ultimately, whether or not Sans can open and close his mouth in canon is not known, but it seems more likely that he can only move the corners of his smile. Regardless, his signature smile is a staple of his final design.
