G4 announced in November 2014 that it would end all operations. The network was shut down on New Year’s Eve 2014. On July 24, 2020, a revival of the G4 brand was announced. A digital and linear network, G4 is slated to relaunch in the summer of 2021.

It will stream a weekly show called B4G4 ahead of its official relaunch this summer.

Streaming Services Carrying G4 Live

G4 is bringing back its video game broadcast network, and now it has named hosts for its announced X-Play and Attack of the Show! But their longtime co-hosts Morgan Webb of X-Play and Olivia Munn of Attack of the Show! aren’t coming back, at least not so far.

If you’re a fan of old-school G4 mainstays like the gaming-focused X-Play or the live news/variety daily Attack of the Show!, there’s reason to celebrate: G4 has confirmed that both those series will be coming back under the network’s new programming lineup, and — just as before — they’ll serve up tech and gaming news …

Finally, in December 2014, G4 aired one last game of Pong before shutting down for good. G4’s decision to step away from video games and become a more generic entertainment channel ended up destroying the network.

Less than a year after departing, G4 ended up shutting down original programming before the network as a whole then shuttered in 2014. Now, close to a decade later, Pereira is returning to the newly-revived iteration of G4 in an official capacity.

In April 2003, Webb left The Screen Savers to co-host X-Play with Adam Sessler. Webb is one of the six TechTV personalities to survive the massive layoffs resulting from the May 2004 merger of G4 and TechTV. Only Adam Sessler and Webb remained with the network after G4’s change in format.

G4 canceled Attack of the Show! due to low ratings, five months after Kevin Pereira canceled his contract. The series taped its final scenes on December 21, 2012, and its final episode was broadcast January 23, 2013.

Upon his departure from G4 in April 2012, Sessler was its longest tenured television personality, having originally been hired by its predecessor ZDTV in 1998….

The channel launched on March 13, 2012. The channel’s final hosts were Tara Long and Nick Robinson. Past hosts were Max Scoville, Scott Bromley, and Anthony Carboni. Discovery Digital Networks ended the operations of Rev3Games on November 6, 2014, for reasons that have not been disclosed.

Tara Long, who launched Entertainment One’s U.S. unscripted TV business in 2012, has been promoted to President, Global Unscripted, Television for the studio.
