In terms of moral lesson, El Filibusterismo is what I’d choose over Noli Me Tangere. El Filibusterismo showed us how anger and vengeance can take over a person’s being. El FIlibusterismo also shares the theme that violence is not the answer with Noli Me Tangere.

It targets the Spanish government in indirect way. This novel tell us how cruel and how purely evil the Spaniards was. Nevertheless, it also tackles the bravery of the Filipino community. It shows the unimagined bravery of our countrymen on fighting the greediness and cruelty of the Spaniards.

El Filibusterismo is a major turning point not just for the story but also for the protagonists, with many incidents of murder, sexual assault, and suicide. These two novels portrayed the true meaning and root of nationalism. It reminds through our heroes the sacrifices to leads and make.

The Death of Gomburza & The Propaganda Movement The death of Gomburza awakened strong feelings of anger and resentment among the Filipinos. They questioned Spanish authorities and demanded reforms.

The martyrdom of the three secular priests would resonate among Filipinos; grief and outrage over their execution would make way for the first stirrings of the Filipino revolution, thus making the first secular martyrs of a nascent national identity.

He was also active in the publication of the newspaper La Verdad. On 17 February 1872, he was one of the priests executed due to the false accusations of treason and sedition, taking a supposed active role in the Cavite Mutiny. He was later on sentenced to death by garrote in a military court at Bagumbayan field.
