Green is connected to motherhood, planet Venus and inner child. It is also told to be the favorite color of fairies and pixies. Green is about growth and rebirth connected to seasons of spring and summer.

It would seem that fairies dislike discord within their host’s homes. Bad language and arguments are bound to cause upset; seemingly these magical folk enjoy their peace and quiet. Offerings of milk and honey could be left to appease the fairies should they have been upset by their human companions.

But if you must interact with faeries, here are some tips to follow.

• Never eat food that they give you. Eating their food will do two things.
• Never give them your name. Names hold power.
• Never stand in a fairy ring.
• Never be rude to a faerie.
• Never accept a gift from the Fae.

Traditionally, bread and salt provided protection from the Fae. Carrying yeast-risen bread with you had a two-fold effect. It would repel some faeries. Other faeries would accept it as an offering and leave you alone.

Weakness

• Iron – Iron is poisonous of the Fae and may kill them if there is too much in their system.
• Rowan wands – Rowan wands can break a Fae Glamour prematurely.
• Shiny Objects – Fae are very susceptible to shiny objects and are often seen dressed in sequins and gems.

It’s old lore. Faeries and evil spirits were believed to have a weakness to cold iron. It’s why horseshoes are considered lucky; it used to be that nailing one to the door would keep away faeries. The way I remember it is that a fairy would probably die if you dropped a large steel bar on it.

Both fairy and faerie are used for two different mythical spirits or figures. “Fairy” is a word that has been derived from Latin word “fatum,” which can mean “fate.” Fairies are considered to be a group of young and pure spirits. Unlike the fairies, faeries are considered to be evil, horrid, and mischievous creatures.

Noun. 1. bad fairy – a fairy that tends to cause harm. evil spirit – a spirit tending to cause harm.

Humans do not have to die to become nature spirits or trooping fairies. Humans are so close to fairies they can, in fact, be transformed into fairies while still living. This should not be so surprising because, as previously mentioned, humans are in essence just another form of fairy.

Birth. When a baby laughs for the first time, a fairy is born. The laugh blows away and he or she is carried by the winds to Pixie Hollow. Once the laugh makes its way to the Pixie Dust Tree, a dust-keeper sprinkles Pixie Dust over the laugh, resulting in his or her birth.
