A flotilla (from Spanish, meaning a small flota (fleet) of ships), or naval flotilla, is a formation of small warships that may be part of a larger fleet. Groups of larger warships are usually called squadrons, but similar units of non-capital ships may be called squadrons in some instances, and flotillas in others.

A slipway, also known as boat ramp or launch or boat deployer, is a ramp on the shore by which ships or boats can be moved to and from the water.

The word “name,” regardless of whether it is “of a person” or not, is a noun, not an adjective.

Proper Adjectives. Proper Adjectives Definition. A proper adjective is a grammatical part of speech that derives itself from a proper noun. For instance, “China” is a proper noun; it is the name of a country.

The word biblical is an adjective, which describes the Bible, and is spelled with a lowercase “b”. The word Bible is a proper noun and is therefore capitalized. “Biblical” is an adjective, so needs a lower case “b”.

You always capitalize Bible when referring to a proper noun including the various versions of both the Christian and Jewish Bibles. For example “King James Bible”, “Gideon’s Bible” or “Hebrews Bible. “The Holy Bible” is a proper title of a book and the word bible in this case must always be capitalized.

Nouns that are not proper names can also be capitalized out of reverence to the entity they refer to. Such examples include “the Lord”, “the Father” and “the Creator”.

Do not italicize, underline, or use quotation marks for books and versions of the Bible. Do italicize the titles of individual published editions of the Bible.

The Bible. Italicize “The Bible” and follow it with the version you are using. Remember that your in-text (parenthetical citation) should include the name of the specific edition of the Bible, followed by an abbreviation of the book, the chapter and verse(s).

In the body of your text, general references to scriptural works like the Bible, Talmud, and Koran should not be italicized unless you refer to a specific published edition. The first part of the Christian Bible is known as the Old Testament.

When citing a passage of scripture, include the abbreviated name of the book, the chapter number, and the verse number—never a page number. Chapter and verse are separated by a colon. Example: 1 Cor. 13:4, 15:12-19.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

List The Bible as the title and use the translation as the version (MLA Style Center). The name of the bible app should follow in italics, then the version (if available), and app publication information. Format: Title.

When quoting the Bible, you must cite the Bible version in the body of the paper and include it in your reference list. When citing the Bible the in-text citation should follow the order of the template as shown here: Template: Bible Version, Date of Publication, Book chapter and verse.

In APA referencing, you cite holy texts by giving the title of the version used and the date of publication (plus the date of original publication where relevant): The Bible (King James Bible, 1769/2017) contains many unusual stories.
