A virtuous wife strives to honor her spouse. She realizes from God’s word that honor in marriage is a characteristic for both parties, but she doesn’t act honorable only when she feels it’s reciprocated. She honors her husband because this is what God commands for her as a wife.

To live virtuously means exercising the part of the mind that practices reason and excellence; this life of excellence is what should be attained in accordance with reason.

What does virtuous woman mean? The Bible in the Proverbs 31 describes a virtuous woman as the one who leads her home with integrity, discipline, and more. All the virtues she is practicing are aimed at making the life of her husband better, teaching her children and serving God.

The virtuous woman is wise because she fears The Lord. This means that she honors, loves, respects and is faithful to The Lord. This fear makes her wise about all the decisions and the choices she makes because she has made God first in her life. In order to be a virtuous woman we must have God reigning in our hearts.

LEADERSHIP: Ephesians 5:23-24 describes the man as the leader of his household. A virtuous man takes the steps of Jesus(leader of the church) and be the spiritual leader of his household.

For her price is far above rubies.

“A gracious woman gets honor, and violent men get riches.” The Good News: Any woman who is compassionate in her life will be rewarded in heaven, while those who act in anger will be punished. “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”

As a matter of fact, it was Reuben’s duty to watch over the other sons. Reuben’s father placed an extra portion of trust in him. All of this being true, God adamantly proclaims that a virtuous woman is more valuable than sons.

The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out. Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find? The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
