Q. What is the Glock armorer’s course?
In the basic Armorer’s Class (AC), students learn to maintain and service all GLOCK pistol models. In this one day (8 hr) class, students are taught about the design of the SAFE ACTION® System, detailed disassembly and reassembly of all models, recommended service schedules, and parts replacement.
Q. How long is US Army armorer school?

Gunsmithing history and tradition goes back hundreds of years, with several steps of rapidly evolving technology. Classical fine gunsmithing is a dying art and there is demand for it, but I believe there is a huge field of modern gunsmithing work to be taught.

Gunsmiths may sometimes build and design a gun from scratch, but they more commonly fix or improve an existing gun. Advanced gunsmiths may also make decorative modifications, such as engravings, complete extensive repairs or refinish vintage firearms.

As an Armor Officer, you’ll be responsible for tank and cavalry/forward reconnaissance operations on the battlefield. You’ll be a leader in operations specific to the armor branch and lead others in many areas of combat operations.

To become a Gunsmith You can work as a Gunsmith without formal qualifications if you are able to demonstrate your technical competency to employers. However, a certificate III in metal fitting, metal turning, metal machining or a related field is usually required. Registration or licencing may be required.

HK Training and Technical Services currently offers a full range of armorer’s courses on Heckler & Koch products to civilian, American law enforcement and U.S. military customers. Most armorer’s courses are held at the HK facility in Columbus, GA and select courses in Manassas, VA.
