Booklets are documents with multiple pages arranged on sheets of paper that, when folded, present the correct page order. You can create 2-up saddle-stitched booklets, where two side-by-side-pages, printed on both sides, are folded once and fastened along the fold.

Create a booklet using a template

1. Go to File > New.
2. Type booklet in the search box and select the search icon.
3. When you find the template you want to use, select it and choose Create.
4. Click File > Save a copy to save your booklet.

In the document that you want to print as a booklet, click the Page Layout tab and then click the Page Setup Dialog Box Launcher. In the dialog box, in the Multiple pages list, click Book fold.

Go to Layout > Margins > Custom Margins. Change the setting for Multiple pages to Book fold. The orientation automatically changes to Landscape. Tip: If you have a long document, you might want to split it into multiple booklets, which you can then bind into one book.

Follow these steps to set up your document as a booklet:

1. Display the Page Layout (Layout in Word 2016 or later versions) tab of the ribbon.
2. Click the small icon at the bottom-right corner of the Page Setup group.
3. Make sure the Margins tab is displayed.
4. Using the Multiple Pages drop-down list, choose Book Fold.
