The business process change analyzer (BPCA) compares the objects in a transport to the objects in the TBOMs of the target system. Since every TBOM is assigned to an executable entity in a scenario, business process or process step, you can determine which parts of a solution documentation are affected by the change.

Component-based test automation (CBTA) allows you to create automatic tests. Screen components are generated automatically at the end of a test recording. There is only one screen component per SAP GUI transaction screen, SAP CRM Web UI application view, and SAP Web Dynpro application.

CBTA is a test automation tool present in SAP Solution Manager (SAP SolMan), and the usage right is available for all enterprise support customers. The tool helps in creation of modular test cases which are made of components.

CBTA is composed out of 2 software components: An add-on to be installed on SAP Solution Manager 7.1 from SP7 onward, and a front-end component to be installed on the user’s desktop.

A test data container is a reusable data object with a set of user-defined parameters which can be maintained independently from a test script. Test data containers are mainly used by test automation tools like SAP CBTA or SAP eCATT.

The BPCA analysis is displayed for each system. A graphical overview displays analyzed and not yet analyzed changes, by change type. To display details, click a column in the graphic. To analyze unanalyzed changes, choose Test Suite – Overview Business Process Change Analyzer.

Same time BPCA will enable a trace in the ERP system and will collect all the objects such as data dictionary objects/includes/FMs, etc. This list of objects will become TBOM for transaction “MM01”. TBOMs can be created using three methods, let us see in details.

Technical Prerequisites for BPCA: Adequate Business Process Repository in Solution Manager: Business process repository should be adequate in solution manager with all Business Scenarios/Business Processes and Business process steps.

The BPCA compares the objects in a transport to the objects in the target system’s technical bills of material (TBOMs). The BPCA can get an object list for business functions, as well as objects in transports, and compare this object list with the objects in TBOMs.
