All Peperomia species are fun plants to grow, including the one we will discuss today, Peperomia Metallica. The plant named is pronounced as Pep-er-ROH-mee-uh Meh-TAL-ih-kuh. This species has dark red leaves with a silver lining in the middle. It’s a perfect plant to add a touch of color to your indoor garden.

Chamaedorea Elegans or Bamboo palm (Aka Parlour palm) is a slender-stemmed palm with a terminal tuft of pinnate, rich green leaves, which grows up to 60cm long, comprising 21-40 linear to lance-shaped leaflets.

A new indoor Palm Tree should be watered every day in its first week. Next, move to every other day in its second week. Then settle for 3 times a week on the third. Once your indoor Palm Tree is completely settled, water it 2-3 times per week, or when the top 1-2 inches of the soil is completely dry.

Prune. Peperomia Rana Verde does not need to be pruned. However, you can clip away any old or dead leaves and stems to keep them looking neat and healthy. It is best to do this at the beginning of the growing season (early spring) so that the plant can regenerate during the growing season.

Parlor palms can be moved outdoors in the summer. Protect them from direct sun, which will scorch their leaves. Choose a shaded outdoor location and water daily in hot, dry conditions. Move your plant back indoors when night temperatures fall below 55 degrees F.

Chamaedorea fragrans is one of the more sought after species and large specimens can be quite costly. It is an exceptionally ornamental species but a bit touchy to grow in all but the warmest areas (cold tolerance is barely under freezing). It also has a low tolerance of arid winds and poor water quality.

It is a large palm for a Chamaedorea, but it does not appear to be as tall as it was expected to grow. Stems are about 1.5″ in diameter and the leaves are long and arching with widely spaced lanceolate thick leaflets. Flowers seem to arise from below ground level and plants only 3′ tall have large upright flowers nearly as tall as the entire plant.
