Skurge, an Asgardian, is originally depicted as a supervillain who wields a magic double-bladed battle axe. Skurge falls in love with the Enchantress and is frequently used in schemes by her and the trickster god Loki.

I just wanna chance to prove myself. Skurge to Hela. Skurge is a supporting antagonist in the 2017 Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok. He is a downtrodden Asgardian warrior who briefly served as the executioner of Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death.

Played by Star Trek’s Karl Urban, Skurge had no shortage of great one-liners throughout the film, in addition to what is certainly one of Ragnarok’s most pivotal character arcs. During his panel at Dallas Fan Days 2018, Urban was asked what drew him to the role of Skurge, and why he chose to board Ragnarok.

Saving the Asgardians Unwilling to allow this to happen, Skurge revealed himself, using Des and Troy to destroy the incoming enemies, but knowing they would not stop coming, he jumped out, sacrificing himself.

Born in Asgard to a stone mason father and his wife, Skurge had one ambition throughout his young life, to prove himself as an Asgardian warrior worthy of being remembered.

Under Loki’s disguised regime over Asgard, Heimdall was banished from his position. When Hela took control over Asgard, Heimdall hid the Asgardian citizens from her and with the help of Thor, he evacuated them from Asgard before Ragnarök. He then joined their new king Thor on their trip to Earth.

1100 lbs (498.95 kg). And though the Executioner stands alone, and the warriors of Hel seem numberless, not one sets foot upon the bridge across the river Gjoll.

They were approached by the entire Einherjar army who had come to attempt to stop Hela from achieving her goals. However, Skurge then rejoined Hela after she had single-handedly slaughtered all of the Einherjar with considerable ease, killing the soldiers and bringing down the Asgardian Skiffs with her own Necroswords.

Amora allegedly imbued Skurge’s axe with its space and dimension cleaving powers, giving it the name of “Bloodaxe.” Over a millennium ago, Amora led Skurge to ally with Asgardian god of mischief, Loki Laufeyson, hoping to trick Loki’s adoptive brother, thunder god Thor Odinson, into releasing Jotunheim’s giants on Earth.

After feeling toyed with by Amora for too long, Skurge teamed up with the Einherjar, Balder, and Thor to rescue stolen souls from Hel that had been taken by Hela. In the process, Hela attempted to persuade Skurge to join her warriors onboard of Naglfar, the ship of the dead.
