L’Chaim in Hebrew is a toast meaning “to life”. Since they drink l’chaim (“to life”), the celebration is also called a l’chaim.

HOW DO WE GIVE GOD CONTROL?

The doctrine of the Trinity identifies Jesus as God the Son, identical in essence but distinct in person with regard to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (the first and third Persons of the Trinity).

Jesus knew the desires of Zacchaeus’ heart, and knew that he really would change – and He knows the same of us too. If we meet someone who we previously thought could not be saved, and they show proof of true repentance and salvation, we should be quick to accept them on the evidence of their changed life.

He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

The great biblical themes are about God, his revealed works of creation, provision, judgment, deliverance, his covenant, and his promises. The Bible sees what happens to mankind in the light of God’s nature, righteousness, faithfulness, mercy, and love.

The Christian Bible has two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the original Hebrew Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Jewish faith, written at different times between about 1200 and 165 BC.

First, the Bible shows us God’s character and provides us God’s revelation of himself to his people. In each section of the Bible, we see God’s holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character.

A miracle is an event that seems inexplicable by natural or scientific laws. In various religions, a phenomenon that is characterized as miraculous is often attributed to the actions of a supernatural being (especially a deity), magic, a miracle worker, a saint, or a religious leader.

The miracles of Jesus serve as a glimpse and foretaste of what God will accomplish on a grand, universal scale when Jesus comes to establish the New Heaven and the New Earth. The miracles of Jesus offer a preview of that glorious day. The miracles offer a glimpse of Heaven on earth.

A miracle is an extraordinary event that goes against nature, cannot be explained by science and that Christians believe is caused by God. In Matthew’s day, people would have believed in miracles and did not need any scientific explanations or proof.

A great number of miracles have been attributed to Makhlouf since his death. The most famous one is that of Nohad El Shami, a 55-year-old woman at the time of the miracle who was healed from a partial paralysis.

Belief in miracles is thus obligatory in the Roman Catholic Church, although belief in any specific miracle is not necessarily so. Classical Protestantism, however, has confined its belief in miracles to those recorded in Scripture.
