The Capitol of Panem is a technologically advanced, utopian city where the nation’s most wealthy and powerful citizens live. The Capitol is also the colloquial name for the ruling government of Panem.

The 77th Hunger Games are the first Hunger Games which involves children, who are related a higher force in the Capitol, whether deceased or not.

Coin didn’t directly kill Prim, individual people weren’t her targets. Although she did obviously know that Prim would be assisting the wounded as a medic. But the reason Coin ordered the capital bombing, was to make it look like Snow did it.

She also has two grandchildren, an elder girl and younger boy, from Katniss and Peeta. Primrose died in Mockingjay, leaving Mrs. Everdeen unable to go back to District 12 due to the pain of her death.

Prim ultimately dies from a hovercraft attack, bringing much grief not only to Katniss, but to Mrs. Everdeen as well. And while she doesn’t live with Katniss, we do know Mrs. Everdeen does stay in touch with her through the phone — Haymitch provides a note with a number for Katniss to contact her mother with.

Originally, she was supposed to be the one sent into the arena during the 74th Annual Hunger Games if Katniss Everdeen had not volunteered to take her place. Like Mrs….Primrose Everdeen.

But soon after the second fire was lit, Rue stumbled into a trap set up by Marvel, who stabbed her through the abdomen with his spear while Katniss ran to save her. After dispatching Marvel, Rue begged Katniss win and to sing to her as she died.
