The main conflict was that everyone in the Titans football team didn’t want to work with the other race. This impacts how the team is playing and how they act/are as a team. Also if they are working together or if they aren’t showing teamwork to the other race.

Remember the Titans is a sports drama movie based on a true story. It is of racism and inequality throughout the whole movie and overcoming both of them through sportsmanship and integrity.

Integration was unfortunately very bad. Many people didn’t want the black kids playing on the football team, or even being in the same High Schoolt. Many people where even upset that the black families were moving into the same neighborhood. This was a problem because of all the discrimination that still existed.

Coach Yoast used democratic leadership styles. In Remember the Titans Coach Yoast display his qualities in such a way that he handled each difficult situation with ease. He used to keep his players cool so that he can have control over them and he can help them individually if need arises.

What does Coach Boone do in an attempt to bring the team together? Boone resolves conflicts between individuals on the team by requiring they learn about one another. Boone stands behind his policy of not cutting team members. He delegates Gary Bertier to handle cutting Ray Budds from the team.

9) Making inferences: Why does Coach Boone connect the Civil War to the problems facing his team? Tells them that the same issues that tore the country apart are still tearing his team apart.

How do the ’71 Titans start to become a team? (They come together as a team at the training camp. They have to get away from everything else [friends, family, news, etc.]. Even this doesn’t work at first—they’re still fighting at camp.

Coach Yoast lost position of head coach after Herman Boone took his place. Yoast was extremely upset, he lost his spot to an African American and refused the position of assistant coach, Boone offered him. At first Yoast was mad and didn’t want anything to do with Boone or any of the colored players.

He knows that the only reason he was given this job is because there are no other black coaches in the league and in order to integrate, TC Williams High School had to give a black man the job. He feels that it is unfair to take another man’s job because of a race issue which shows us the other side to racism.

Why does Sunshine’s dad want him to play at TC Williams? There are black and white players on the team. He heard Coach Boone was good. He wants his son to be a quarterback.

There is one scene in the film, where a brick is thrown through Coach Boone’s window. In real-life, it was an old toilet that was thrown, but filmmakers thought that would add humor to the serious situation.

After winning semi-finals the guys spend the evening celebrating and Bertier gets in a car accident, paralyzing him from the waist down. Regardless of the tragedy that occurred, the boys shake it off and end up winning the championship, which ultimately brings the community together and ends racial issue in Alexandria.

Williams Titans ever dance on the field during warm-ups like in the movie? No. The Titans never did a song and dance routine on the field during warm-ups.

Re: Why did Sunshine kiss Bertier? It was a joke. They gave him that nickname because of the long hair and they equated him with someone who might be gay so that’s why, as a joke, he kissed Berrtier. It was a hilarious moment and actually helped bond the team together.
