A major conflict throughout Wicked, was when Elphaba had to face the prejudice of her skin color throughout the entire book. Most people were appalled by the bright green coloring of her skin, so much so that her own mother and father were ashamed of her.

Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (whose name later changes to Glinda the Good Witch), who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government, and, ultimately.

To really answer the question “What is “Wicked” about?” you need to look deeper than the flying monkeys and magic spells. This is truly what “Wicked” the musical is about: friendship, identity, and standing up for one’s beliefs, even when it seems like the rest of the world doesn’t agree with them.

In the end, Nessa sings, “Just the girl in the mirror and me, the Wicked Witch of the East – we deserve each other…” Elphaba leaves, heartbroken. Boq then awakens from the spell; he has been changed into a tin man. Nessa screams that it was Elphaba’s fault.

In the musical Wicked, Elphaba becomes Wicked because she realizes that she has tried to do so much good in her life…. Elphaba realizes she can’t do good deeds and just stops doing good, and starts doing Evil. That is how Elphaba becomes The Wicked Witch Of The West.

Elphaba, Wicked’s protagonist, makes Jay-Z look like he has zero problems. Not only is she born out of infidelity, she’s also born with green skin. Elphaba is not evil, or wicked, or bad. In fact, she’s empathetic, passionate, ambitious and talented.

Nessarose meets her demise when Dorothy Gale’s farmhouse, which was carried by a Kansas cyclone, unexpectedly lands in Oz and tragically crushes her to death. Thus, enabling Dorothy to become the new owner of her magic slippers. Unlike in Wicked, the Wicked Witch of the East never made an appearance in L.

The Wicked witch wanted these shoes because they gave the wearer power. it is unsure as to what power it gives, however the witch didnt care she just wanted power. They matched her favorite purse. In The Wizard of Oz (1900 book & 1939 movie), what would have happened if the Wicked Witch got Dorothy’s ruby slippers?

We meet the young witches at school at Shiz University, where Elphaba, the “Wicked Witch,” is going to school with her younger sister Nessarose. Glinda and Elphaba are roommates at school after a mixup in the housing process, and while they two start out hating each other, they grow to see how they can help each other.

Wicked Witch of the West and East: The Wicked Witch of the East represents eastern business and the Wicked Witch of the West represents the politician William McKinley who defeated Williams Jennings Bryant during the time of the free silver silver movement. Good Witch of the South and North.

The Wicked Witch of the West (or Witch of the West, or Wicked Witch for short) is a fictional character invented by L. Frank Baum, author and creator of the Oz Legacy. In Maguire’s story the Witch’s name is “Elphaba” who is green due to her mother consuming “Green Miracle Elixir” while she was pregnant with her.

Glinda thanks Dorothy for killing the witch and, despite her objections, insists that she put on the magic slippers, as they now belong to her. She informs Dorothy that they will keep her safe from all harm. Dorothy explains that she is from Kansas and desperately wants to get back home (“Little Girl from Kansas”).

“Good gracious!” she cried. For she was sitting on the broad Kansas prairie, and just before her was the new farmhouse Uncle Henry built after the cyclone had carried away the old one.

Auntie Em Dorothy’s Aunt and Henry’s wife. A typical midwestern farm worker, her main concern is the upkeep of her farm. Doubles as Glinda the Good Witch of the North. Doubles as the Scarecrow, a kind and clumsy corn field fixture who joins Dorothy to get a brain from the Wizard.

3. Dorothy and the Scarecrow were to fall in love. A concluding scene back in Kansas after Dorothy’s return was removed before final script approval and never filmed. This is said to explain Dorothy’s preference for the Scarecrow over her other two companions in Oz.

Near the end of The Wizard of Oz, after Glinda informs Dorothy she can go back to Kansas, Dorothy says her goodbyes to her traveling companions. When she gets to the Scarecrow, she simply embraces him and cries, “I think I’ll miss you most of all.”

The Scarecrow wants a brain. When he finally gets one, he pronounces …. “The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side.”
