Canada is richly endowed with water. Possessing one of the largest renewable supplies of freshwater in the world, it has access to upwards of 20% of the world’s surface freshwater and 7% of the world’s renewable water flow.

Within as little as 50 years, many regions of the United States could see their freshwater supply reduced by as much as a third, warn scientists.

As we said, 21 Indian cities – including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad – will run out of groundwater by 2020, affecting 100 million people; 40 percent of India’s population will have no access to drinking water by 2030, the report said.

Yes, sadly, the Earth will eventually run out of oxygen — but not for a long time. According to New Scientist, oxygen comprises about 21 percent of Earth’s atmosphere. That robust concentration allows for large and complex organisms to live and thrive on our planet.

While it is possible, it is very unlikely to happen. There are currently over 3 trillion trees on earth. With a net los of ~10 billion trees per year this alone would take 300 years to accomplish. There are also initiatives to replant what gets logged in many parts of the world.

When trees were cleared from the uplands, heavy rain washed soil off the hills and into the valleys below, leaving a much reduced mineral fertility and turning the uplands into sodden bleak moors that resist the return of woodland.

Without trees, formerly forested areas would become drier and more prone to extreme droughts. When rain did come, flooding would be disastrous. Massive erosion would impact oceans, smothering coral reefs and other marine habitats.

A world without trees would be bad… very, very bad. There are three trillion trees in the world. The timber industry currently cuts down 15 billion a year, so at current rates it would take at least 200 years to fell them all – probably much longer because a lot of virgin forest is hard to reach.

Life could not exist on Earth without trees because they produce most of the oxygen that humans and wildlife breathe. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen using the process of photosynthesis. There would also be no rain without trees.
