The reason why Kpop is much more popular than both C-pop and J-pop is due to their aggressive marketing strategy along with their super catchy tunes. Somehow, their songs and melody are more easily acceptable compared to C-pop and J-pop.

However, a few artists also originate from neighboring Chinese-speaking countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore. The truth is, the reason we don’t see C-Pop groups and artists touring around the world and topping the US charts is because China simply doesn’t have a real financial need to push C-Pop on a global scale.

I could list these as the reason: Lack of international appeal: Chinese songs not as powerful or “mind-grabbing” like K-pop/Korean counterpart. Accessibility issues: Chinese songs from Mainland China aren’t on Youtube, they’re hard to find on Itunes or Spotify.
