Will there be a 2021 Chevy Impala? In spite of all this, there will not be a 2021 Chevrolet Impala. The last Impala sedan was produced on February 27th, 2020 at the Detroit-Hamtramck Chevy plant in Michigan. The Impala was originally expected to end in 2019 along with the Chevy Volt hybrid and Buick LaCrosse.

Strangely enough, there’s a car that will replace the Impala in GM’s lineup, and it’s not what you’d expect: the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck, which is slated for release in 2022.

GM discontinued the Impala in 1985 and then brought it back in 1994 as the Impala SS performance car.

The Impala shares some of its underpinnings with the Buick LaCrosse, but the LaCrosse offers more options, a nicer cabin, and less interior space. The Toyota Avalon feels more upscale than the Impala in many ways, but lacks the planted drive feel. The Ford Taurus feels smaller inside and its controls are dated.

The 2008 model is probably the best deal, which can be purchased for as little as $6,500. Newer Impala vehicles, like the 2012 model, cost around $7,000-$9,000 and have much fewer complaints. More recent models will also have more advanced features. The 2012 model comes with standard Bluetooth plus an updated engine.

Given proper maintenance, a new Chevrolet Impala should last up to 150,000-200,000 miles.

The back of the Impala sits higher than the Malibu. For the exterior dimensions, the Impala is significantly longer. The Impala has an overall length of 201.3 inches, while the Malibu is at 193.8 inches. That extra length on the Impala gives it a bigger cargo capacity and slightly more room for its passengers.

Expect most models for slots between $28,000 and $38,000.
