Meta recently introduced Avatars to Instagram after introducing them to Facebook to compete with Snapchat's Bitmoji and Apple's Memoji. It seems that this feature will soon be extended to WhatsApp according to the latest WABetaInfo report. Here are the details to know.
How to add avatars during video calls on WhatsApp
A recent WABetaInfo report suggests that WhatsApp is testing to introduce Avatars for video calls. This was seen on WhatsApp for Android beta. The feature allows people to add their avatars during a video call.
There will be an option to "switch to avatar", click on which will show your avatars during the conversation. The report includes a screenshot of the feature. Here's a look at what it looks like.
However, the feature is currently under development and is therefore not functional. But this will not be the only purpose of Avatars on WhatsApp. It is also revealed that people will soon be able to send avatars as stickers to individual and group WhatsApp chats, similar to Instagram and Facebook.
