WhatsApp has been toying with the idea of introducing the ability to pin messages and this has finally become official. This is now rolling out to Android and iOS, making it easier to highlight the important ones so there's no hassle in finding them. It is also available on WhatsApp for web/desktop.

This comes after WhatsApp introduced a couple of beta updates for the same. Back in October, the feature was released to some beta testers on Android. You will be able to attach different types of messages such as texts, polls, images, emojis and more, and all come with the benefit of end-to-end encryption. Messages can be pinned for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, with 7 days as the default.

This is available for both individual and group chats. In group chats, admins can choose whether they want all members to pin the messages or have the option for themselves. Everyone will be able to see if a message is pinned and who pinned it!

You can quickly detach a message by long-pressing on it and selecting the "Untie" option. In addition, WhatsApp now allows you to send View Once voice messages and see the health of the call connection on iOS to ensure that the connection remains stable.
