WhatsApp already has the ability to send and receive disappearing media and has now extended its "Show Once" feature to voice messages. This allows you to send disappearing voice memos for privacy.

How to Send Disappearing Messages on Whatsapp

A "disposable" icon will now be available when sending voice notes. You have to select it every time you want to send a disappearing voice note, much like you do for disappearing photos and videos. When this is enabled, the voice memos will disappear after they have been listened to.

This helps you converse with others more privately if the voicemails are secret. As is the case with WhatsApp, voice messages that disappear end-to-end are encrypted. However, WhatsApp warns that people can still use "other" ways to intercept voicemails. For example, if the recipient has an Android phone, the built-in screen recording feature can be used to record audio messages. So it's best to send these messages to someone you trust!

Once you've sent a View Once voicemail, you won't be able to hear it again, and to know if the recipient has opened it, the "read receipts" option must be enabled. It's also revealed that disappearing voicemails will be available for 14 days (unless they've been opened), after which they'll disappear regardless.
