WhatsApp already has a feature that allows you to delete a message sent by mistake. So if a message was sent to the wrong chat you can easily "Delete for everyone" and that just makes it easier. And now it plans to add a new feature, which will help you undo the action when you accidentally delete a message and it wasn't meant to happen. Here are the details.

WhatsApp will soon introduce an Undo button for deleted messages

WABetaInfo has recently revealed that WhatsApp is working on an undo option for deleted messages for you. This means that if you choose the "Delete for me" option and want to change it, you will have a few seconds to undo this deed.

A shared screenshot suggests that there will be an undo option at the bottom of the screen if a message is deleted, tapping that can restore the message. This is similar to the undo option for various actions on Gmail. This allows you to either keep the message or choose to delete the message for everyone in either a group or individual chat. Here's a look at the screenshot below.

However, we don't know if this feature will apply to all deleted messages or only allow you to recover a message that has been deleted for you. Enabling it for all deleted messages makes more sense as there are chances of accidentally deleting a message and rewriting it can be cumbersome.
