Another day, another WhatsApp beta update. The highly popular messaging app continues to receive new features through its periodic updates and the focus this time is on better authentication methods. The latest WhatsApp beta for iOS adds support for account login via email. Check out how it works and what it looks like below.

The new WhatsApp Beta update for iOS (23.23.1.77) was recently pushed through the TestFlight beta program, as spotted by @WABetaInfo. Following up on a similar version for Android (2.23.24.10), the new beta update finally adds the ability to link an email account to your WhatsApp. This default feature on many apps was missing on WhatsApp but is finally making its grand entry on both Android and iOS.
As you can see from the images, the email address page is quite simple, with the option to easily add your address. Once you're done, you'll need to verify your email entry, which you should be able to access your account and restore. However, it's worth noting that this doesn't replace phone numbers, as you'll still need them to access your account.
Users can choose not to use this feature as well if desired. But I would say that it would be useful to add your email to WhatsApp so that you have more options to receive a 6-digit verification code when needed.
